September's book sale earned record-breaking revenue of $30,726 from the sale of books at the Book Sale and Book Store, memberships, raffle tickets and tote bags. We are grateful to our many hard-working volunteers and everyone who donated books and purchased (or renewed) memberships, books and raffle tickets.

We are already hard at work getting ready for our December Book Sale and Sip & Shop!

The Library will kick off its annual Friends-sponsored Banned Books Week (Sunday, September 23 - Saturday, September 29) at a public reception in the lobby on September 21 at 7:00 p.m. This special after-hours event includes the display of original artwork inspired by books and authors that have been banned or challenged.  You will be able to meet the local artists and celebrate the opening of the exhibit.  There will also be refreshments, a silent auction of the seven winning pieces of original artwork, and complete sets of this year's banned book trading cards.  Friends members will be selling a variety of banned books as well as sets of past years' trading cards.
